ABOUT
RH2 Studios is named after my father, Rodescu Hopkins I.
He passed away in 2018. He was my hero. He still is. Carrying his name into this work isn't something I take lightly — it's the whole point. Everything I build here is an argument that the name means something.
I'm Rodescu Hopkins II. I'm a photographer and filmmaker based in Chicago. I document fighters, comedians, and the kind of people who don't always make the front page but probably should. People who show up under pressure. People with something real at stake.
I came to this work through genuine obsession — with light, with character, with the moment before someone performs and the moment after. I'm also a student at Columbia College Chicago, where I'm earning my BFA in Photography. The classroom and the studio inform each other more than I expected.
RH2 is also personal in a second way now. I have a kid of my own. So this isn't just about honoring where I came from — it's about showing the next generation what it looks like to build something with your name on it.
That's what this place is. A studio. A body of work. A name worth passing down.
If something you've seen here connects with what you're working on, reach out. I read every message.
